Workforce Training
The City of Corona is working hard to create a healthy local economy that attracts high quality jobs and supports the local business community. The City's Economic Development division looks for ways to support businesses and provide resources needed for their success. Our partnerships with Corona Business Assistance program, California Employment Development Department and Corona Chamber of Commerce illustrate our commitment to our businesses. The Economic Development division is here to provide the tools and resources to assist in your success.
Corona Business Assistance (CBA)
The Corona Business Assistance Program provides free business assistance to new and existing business owners through business counseling, training and mentoring. Counseling services are also available in Spanish. Training includes Business Planning, Business Loans, and Accounting.
California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC)
California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC) has state funding to offset the cost of high-quality, customized training solutions. Training includes classroom instruction and practical, hands-on training provided onsite. Courses are customized to a company's specific needs and in a wide range of topics, including Lean Enterprise, Six Sigma, Quality Systems (ISO 9000, AS9100, TS 16949), CNC Programming. Employment Training Panel
Since its inception in 1983, the ETP program has provided more than $1 billion to train more than 750,000 workers in 65,000 California companies. ETP is a funding agency, not a training agency, with up to $120 million annually in job training funds available to eligible California businesses. Riverside Community College Center for Applied Competitive Technologies
The Centers for Applied Competitive Technologies (CACT) serve technology and manufacturing industry sectors and maintain regional advanced technology demonstration centers. Their instructors, engineers and technical staff are highly experienced and can provide services that enhance Corona’s businesses in many technical and strategic areas. Additionally, the CACT can structure training programs to fit the company's production demands. Employment Development Department (EDD)
The Employment Development Department (EDD) was established in 1936 to provide an economic line of defense against the effects of unemployment assisting not only the individual but also the local community. Over time, EDD has expanded programs and services to become a full employment resource. EDD offers a wide variety of services to millions of Californians under the job service, unemployment insurance, disability insurance, workforce investment, and labor-market information programs. Hispanic Academy of Leadership
